Trygvi Danielsen granted the EBBA-Award 2019
Congratulations to multi-talented artist Trygvi Danielsen who was granted the EBBA Award 2019 earlier this week with the prize money of 25,000 DKK. The EBBA Award is named after the legendary award-winning Faroese author and translator Ebba Hentze (1930-2015) who in her will stated that her fortunes should be granted to young talents in literature. The EBBA Award is administered by the Faroese Writers' Association and in their motivation they say: "Trygvi is a very talented young author, and as a musician he has proved that Faroese language is not stagnant, wooden or stiff but full of new potential, imagery, phrases, and possibilities. Trygvi is a welcomed commentator on society who verbalizes his cutting edge critisism in a humorous, ironic and inquisitive manner". Trygvi Danielsen published his second poetry collection "Silvurbók" last year.
